Last year, liberal darling Elizabeth Warren helped doom President Barack Obama's effort to nominate former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers to head the Federal Reserve by highlighting Summers' Wall Street-friendly background. Now the Massachusetts senator is leading the charge to derail another Wall Street-friendly Obama nominee: investment banker Antonio Weiss, whom the president tapped in November to become the Treasury department's undersecretary for domestic finance, a position with immense power over big banks. If confirmed, consumer advocates say, Weiss may not go to bat for regular Americans when it comes to crafting banking rules and battling GOP-led efforts to gut financial reform. [READ MORE]

In the wake of the grand jury decision to not indict officer Darren Wilson for the killing of unarmed black teen Michael Brown, protests flared—but Brown's death by cop was not the only one mourned this week.
A grand jury in New York also chose not to indict a Staten Island cop in the death of Eric Garner, whose death was caught on film when the officer put him in a chokehold. Protests for both deaths have been happening all over the country.
Stand With Hilary, a pro-Clinton super-PAC, released a truly horrendous country-style promo song. And the Tea Party basically ignored Michele Bachmann's call to protest Obama's executive action on immigration reform.
