Our country was born in revulsion to hereditary family rule. Yet seven presidential elections in a row spanning 24 years (1980-2004) featured a Bush and/or a Clinton on a major party presidential ticket. In 2008, it nearly recurred, but a Clinton fell slightly short. While 2012 was Bush/Clinton-free, in 2016 it looks like we'll see at least a Clinton and perhaps a Bush vying for president, often egged on by celebrity-cozy media elites. Not to mention a 38-year-old Bush (grandson of one president and nephew of another) just elected to statewide office in Texas. Both the Bushes and the Clintons – sometimes using different approaches and rhetoric – have presided over national decline, especially the corporatization and militarization of our society. In the decades of political domination by these two families and their friends in corporate and media circles, our country has experienced: middle-class decline environmental and infrastructure deterioration ever-increasing control of government and economics by a corporate elite near-constant war and erosion of civil liberties grinding, structural poverty and a racially-biased "drug war" leading to massive incarceration government bailouts for Wall Street but not homeowners "free trade" pacts that hurt workers and the environment ever-rising costs of a college education If you believe our country needs a total change of direction – which means not only rejecting the Bushes and Clintons, but any candidates who propose to continue their corporatist policies – please click on the following. . .
